3. Latest Viral Video: 20-second view of Tucson Selenite
I thought this video was nothing special – it’s just 20 seconds long – but 86,000 people saw it, in just its first 24 hours on TikTok. I haven’t had that type of virality in awhile, which is nice. The only bone of contention (from the public) was over my saying they were “over 2 feet long” – some folks took issue with that – one even doing the math to estimate them as being more like 14″ (as if it really matters that much?!). Anyhow – others wanted to know the price – I guessed around $100 (I can find out, I know the sellers personally). Shipping would likely be as much, because they’re so heavy. I won’t guess as to the weight, ’cause it might get somebody’s knickers in a twist. I don’t use Selenite much – oh, and this is technically the Satin Spar version of Gypsum, lest I be called out once more – but when I do reach for Selenite, it’s for the delineation of Sacred Space. It’s also energetically balanced and neutral, which makes the material itself a safe space for other crystals to reside next to.

I picked this one off a table of this material – it was head and shoulders better AND more expensive – than the rest. But it’s SO worth it, when the right buyer comes along and falls in love! 1. Rare ‘Crown’ finds a new home: Quartz ‘Herkimers’
I was smitten by this piece – just as was its buyer – who bought it from me at a wholesale show I was vending at. The base (or majority of the “crown”) is Quartz pseudomorph (replacement) over Anhydrite (Angelite) crystal, which is beautiful and celestial in its own right. But the sprinkling of little “Herkimer Diamonds” on the top is what takes it over the top. We call them Herkimers because – although they’re not from Herkimer – they look just like them: a stocky, double terminated, ultra clear Quartz, with a compact “belt” or band of a “body” between the two points. I’ve been getting known for stocking outstanding specimens, and where people have an eye (and budget) for them, they definitely sell.

3. Rare “terminated” Jade: bubbly botryoidal formation is unique
After seeing how expensive – and rare these are – from North America, I was very pleased to find these better (all around) specimens from the Balochistan Province of Pakistan. I got 10 in total – have pulled 2 for myself – and will be posting the others for sale, on or offline. Energetically – they are a complex surface, with lots of “neural connection points” – like the human brain – and interestingly similar in complexity to the surface of Moldavite. Some folks denied these were real – but at a permanent showroom in Tucson specializing in Indian Minerals, with literally thousands of specimens – there’s no sense in hiking the price of these items and putting them behind glass (if they’re not actually worth something). 1. What is Old is New Again: fixing your special jewelry
Did you know: we build custom jewelry – mostly pendants – using wire wrap AND these traditional settings: cap, prong, and bezel set. In this case – a favorite Labradorite pendant had broken into 2 pieces – and were able to put them together again and build a fresh and beautiful setting, through our craftsman contact in India. 3. Peruvian Minerals: Some of the Best in the World
A great thing about the Tucson Gem Show, is how folks come from other countries with their national treasures – like these Peruvians with their Pyrite (octahedral, my favorite type, and iridescent to boot) and (my favorite) Milky Quartz with Blue Fluorite – too expensive for me to resell, but a pleasure to peruse (like the fancifully presented Vivianite and the Tabular Quartz cluster).

1. What is Blue Tara: a rare blue included Quartz
When I first got into crystals (in the late 80’s) I bought a bunch of this material – then I didn’t see it for decades – now it’s back (maybe with new finds) and I’m glad to say I’ve got a good cross-section of pretty specimens and more gnarly, but energetically potent pieces. The wispy blue that runs through it is Riebeckite, and it doesn’t grow in straight lines, like Rutile. So what you see are like dreamy clouds. In any case, it’s like a cross between a blue Healing stone and a Visionary stone of the Imagination. Most our stock is OFFline, so it’s best to email Kyle@CrystalConcentrics.com with interest.

3. Real vs Fake: Statements vs Certificates of Authenticity
Just cause someone includes a little piece of paper saying your item’s real doesn’t necessarily make it so. People don’t understand that to get a proper Gemologist’s Certification can cost two hundred dollars plus, per item. That’s not what you’re getting when sellers promise you a certificate. What I do instead – though I do have a plan if you wanna get something super official – is to provide you a Statement of Authenticity, as part of the info card I mail out with your purchase. 1. First Time in Tucson: buyers love something different!
It’s such a blessing when you catch the attention of first time Tucson Gem Show buyers. This couple was wowed by our Siberian Jet Raven with Quartz in its mouth (we have a few more); and a perfectly oval Pyritized Ammonite (I’m on the hunt for more). Part of the reason we went out there was to share our Power Stone Pendants, which attract distinguishing buyers, who want interesting Statement Pieces.
